Testimonial: New Welder Hailey: By Jack Johnston VP HR Holtec
The young lady (Hailey) was not sure of her direction post-high school. She found herself interested in the trades offered by the local Wayne County Schools CTE that was connected with her school district. The welding instructor had a close relationship with Orrvilon’s General Manager, John Bearer. Hailey found that she was a skilled welder, specifically in Tig welding. Orrvilon sponsors a booth at the CTE and John Bearer is frequently there providing instruction and passing along his 40 years of welding experience.
As graduation approached, Hailey attended the Wayne County sponsored job fair where Orrvilon had a table. A group from the welding program approached the table and spoke with the Human Resources team of Jody Zehtner and myself. We engaged with the group and presented the case for joining Orrvilon. Hailey was interested in that we do a lot of Tig welding which was her “specialty.” Hailey completed our required 2G and 3G weld test, passed and she joined the Orrvilon team shortly after graduation. Fast forward a few months and she has earned enough income to purchase her own transportation and is preparing to move into her own apartment in the spring of 2023.
