Fairbanks Morse Defense Becomes First “Enterprise Employer” in Defense Industrial Base TalentPipeline Program

BELOIT, Wisconsin - August 30, 2024 – Fairbanks Morse Defense has signed on as the first “Enterprise Employer” for the Defense Industrial Talent Pipeline Program (TPP), accelerating the program’s growth and impact. The initiative, which is part of the U.S. Navy Talent Pipeline Program, provides dedicated internal coaching and additional support to employers that improve their ability to recruit, hire, onboard, and retain talent, ultimately increasing the nation’s defense industrial capacity.

All Fairbanks Morse Defense business units will participate in the program, which will be led by Human Resources Director Taylor Powell. Internal network coaches include Fairbanks Morse Defense Human Resource Director Darrell Betz and Senior Human Resources Director JoAnn Shelby.

“The defense industrial base offers a career path with immense personal and professional growth opportunities,” said Powell. “Fairbanks Morse Defense is committed to working with partners such as the U.S. Navy’s Talent Pipeline Program to kindle a passion for these trades among younger generations so that we can create the workforce required to accelerate and modernize U.S. shipbuilding.”

Fairbanks Morse Defense’s program recently kicked off with an internal organizational meeting at the company’s American Fan business unit in Cincinnati, Ohio. The FMD Enterprise TPP team determined future hiring demand and recruiting pipelines, identified its baseline talent acquisition, and set workforce retention goals for the year so it can begin working toward year-over-year workforce pipeline improvements.

The FMD Enterprise TPP team will continue training at the Enterprise+ Kickoff Meeting in Washington, DC, on November 14, 2024.
