Southern California Talent Pipeline Project Hosts Inaugural Team Kickoff Event
ORANGE, CA - October 28, 2024 - The Southern California Talent Pipeline Project held its inaugural Team Kickoff Event at the Hotel Fera Anaheim in Orange, CA. The event gathered employer partners from across the region to share their company stories, discuss hiring needs, and communicate tool implementation strategies to enhance their Talent Acquisition and Retention practices.
Participating employers collectively identified a hiring demand of over 280 jobs across the Southern California region.
Rear Adm. Todd Weeks, Program Executive Officer for Undersea Warfare Systems and executive sponsor of the Southern California Talent Pipeline Project, addressed the attendees, emphasizing the dual benefit the Talent Pipeline Program provides to businesses and the nation.

When addressing the audience, Command Master Chief Jeff Hiscocks reinforced the urgency of bolstering the nation’s defense capabilities, highlighting the importance of collaboration to build readiness. "You're better together as a team than you are individually," CMC Hiscocks said, encouraging participants to network across regions and share best practices.
The event also featured the "Teammate of the Day" recognition, celebrating standout Partners who demonstrated active engagement in the program. Congratulations to Kerry Jablonski from Hydroform and Pete Yarger from Philadelphia Gear for being honored as the Teammates of the Day.
The Southern California Flag, established in April 2024, continues to grow, now boasting 41 employer partners across the region. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue our mission of supporting workforce development in the defense industrial base. The Mid-Year Team Update and Sharing Event is scheduled for January 30, 2025.
