HAMPTON, VA - JULY 12, 2022 - On July 12, 2022 a Demand Signal Round Table Discussion was held in Norfolk Virginia to discuss the expansion of the Mid-Atlantic Submarine Talent Pipeline Program into Virginia. With the participation of 21 employers, 5 Career and Technical Education Schools, 6 Facilitators, and their high demand, the United States Navy gave the “GO” signal to expand to the Hampton Roads area and establish the first flag of the Virginia Talent Pipeline Project.

• ·Next Major Milestone: Kick Off Meeting and Matching Program Review: September 27th from 9AM to 12PM 

  • Location: Hampton Roads Convention Center at 1610 Coliseum Drive, Hampton, VA 23666. 

• Leading up to that event we will be conducting on-site assessments with each partner and two Talent Acquisition and Retention Workshops.

  • The objective of the on-site assessments will be:

    • Identify demand signal by trade/position: For Employers

    • Capture your supply by trade/position: For CTE's

    • Capture your Current State Process

    • Begin to develop your Talent Acquisition & Retention Performance Improvement Plan

  • The focus of the Talent Acquisition and Retention Workshops will be on Recruiting and Hiring in preparation for the fall recruiting activities.  In order to train all employers we will be having 2 workshops; one on the peninsula and one on the southside.  Please note: these are the same workshops you only need to attend one or the other.

    • Workshop #1 will be on August 30 from 8AM-3PM at the Town Point Club located at 101 W. Main St, 3rd Floor, Norfolk, VA 23510.  

    • Workshop #2 will be on September 13 from 8AM-3PM at the Hampton Roads Convention Center located at 1610 Coliseum Drive, Hampton, VA 23666.
