NYTPP Inaugural Partner Orientation and Networking Conference

On Thursday, October 12th, the New York Talent Pipeline Project held its Long Island Regional Flag Inaugural Partner Orientation and Networking Conference and Team Kickoff Event at the Heritage Club at Bethpage in Farmingdale, NY. The event was sponsored by New York Flag Sponsor Stefanie Link, Executive Director for In-service Submarines for Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN). 

The Orientation portion of the event focused on best practice models in Employer Talent Acquisition and Retention. Throughout the conference, Employers were able to take advantage of Networking breaks, allowing them to create new relationships and build on current relationships with attending Employers, Training Providers, and Supporting Agencies. These Networking opportunities enabled Employers to share challenges in their processes with each other and discover new ways to improve their business. The Kickoff Event provided an overall Program update. It allowed each Employer the opportunity to give a brief company overview, detail their hiring needs, and share an ‘Aha’ moment of their time in the Program.

Current Employers from other regions gave testimonials and shared their success stories with Recruiting, Hiring, Onboarding, and Retention due in part to the tool and support services provided to them in the Program. These Employers were also able to share “why they joined the Program” with the New York Participants. The New York Flag currently includes 30 manufacturers and other defense-connected businesses that range from 10-350 employees and deliver products and services in steel, electronics, parts, and other supply chain needs. 

We want to thank all our partners who helped to make it such a successful and engaging afternoon. After a productive day, the team was able to enjoy refreshments and some of the beautiful early fall weather in New York with our Networking Reception.
