The Pittsburgh Flag of the US Navy Talent Pipeline Program completed Leader Retention training at Flowline

November 13, 2023 - The Flowline leadership team, led by President John Gloninger, received the TMG Leadership Retention Training program as part of their Talent System Performance Improvement Initiative. The training is an integral part of the organizations strengthening their leadership team and how they engage their teams to improve and become high-performing teams. A key element of the training is how to implement the TMG leader tool 5th Metric Scorecard, which gives leaders a forum to identify the current state of their leader-to-led relationships within their team and establish clear and actionable plans to make meaningful improvements.

"In the past couple of years, especially after COVID, the labor market has become more challenging for Flowline.  In order to improve employee retention, we realized we needed to spend more time connecting with our employees and delivering what employees want in an effective way.  With help from the Talent Pipeline Project, we will benefit by learning what our employees want from their careers and then placing them in positions where they can achieve these goals.  The result will be higher employee engagement and better performance, and it will start to feed a positive cycle that will bring us to new heights." John Gloninger, President

In its second cohort group in the region, the Pittsburgh Flag works with nearly 60 employers like Flowline to help them improve their talent acquisition and retention systems. Each employer receives dedicated coaching and support around the elements of their talent system where they feel improvement would have the greatest impact on their business. Flowline elected to focus on improving retention strategies and will use the training and associated leadership tools to strengthen leader-to-led relationships, increase engagement, and ultimately create an environment that can improve safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance while increasing Defense Industrial capacity.
